"Acquired Immunity/Peyer's Patch" (獲得免疫/パイエル板 Kakutoku Men'eki/Paieru-ban?) is the fifteenth episode of the Cells at Work! anime.

Synopsis[]

Memory Cell has a dream where the arrival of messengers from the outside signals the end of the world. As if his dream has become reality, unidentified enemies suddenly enter the body.

Plot[]

Acquired Immunity

One day, Memory Cell receives a strange vision foretelling the destruction of the body. Thus, leading him to believe he has the power to see the future. But B Cell soon hit him on the head, bringing him back to reality.

And his vision becomes real when the Mumps virus invades the Parotid gland. The immune cells try to fight them. However, things get a lot worse. B Cell needs to create antibodies based on Memory Cell's information. But the latter is obsessed with trying to see the future again.

Left with no choice, B Cell slaps. Memory Cell realizes he actually saw his memories of the past when the body received a Mumps vaccine.

Based on this information, B Cell creates antibodies and manages to destroy the virus. After the incident, B Cell explains why it took him so long to get rid of the Mumps virus. Thus, leading the cells to beat the Memory Cell up.


Peyer's Patch

U-1146 takes AE3803 and NT4201 on a tour of the small intestine. But the pleasant outing takes a turn when Killer T Cell scolds U-1146 for not doing his job.

To make matters worse, a Campylobacter invades the small intestine and takes an Intestinal epithelial cells hostage. The white blood cells surrender and give in to the bacteria's demands to humiliate themselves.

But this seems to be part of a plan. In reality, the white blood cells were slowly luring the bacteria to a Peyer's patch where the bacteria are ambushed and destroyed.

After the incident, Killer T Cell apologizes to U-1146. But he retracts his apology when U-1146 realizes he forgot about the two red blood cells and rushes over to check on them.
