Macrophage (マクロファージ, Makurofāji?) is the protagonist character in Cells at Work! Lady.
Appearance[]

He is typically seen in a suit with a coattail, bowtie, and gloves, as is his body's standard macrophage uniform. His hair and eyes are indigo colored. He keeps his weaponry and other small items in his jacket. He wears glasses and has slightly long hair with bangs that are swept to his right side. He sometimes wears a mobcap when he is cleaning.
Personality[]
He takes everything about his lady extremely seriously, and doesn't hesitate to stop anything to make sure she is in the best conditions, even if she had inflicted the "ailment" onto herself. He puts all his trust onto his Lady as she does make sure to take care of herself and thus her cells.
He is extremely particular about the cleanliness of the lymph node he lives in, yelling at his friends, M-7156, Killer T, and B cell, when they do not show the same sentiment, as seen in Chapter 1. He gets worried that if he doesn't keep up with this one point of the health of his lady, she would get sick. This sometimes causes rifts between their friendship, with Macrophage thinking that they don't care about their Lady as much as he does, but he ends up realizing his errors and never ends up straying far from each other for long.
He is so devout to his lady, that when prompted with discussing her beauty, he briefly gets distracted to discuss with the other about her, not noticing that they aren't nearly as obsessed with their Lady as he is. He recognizes that he might not know everything happening to her, so when he doesn't, requests Helper T to explain to him.
Abilities[]
As a white blood cell, he possess abilities that allows him to destroy threats and clean up dead cells.
- Overall Abilities: All Macrophages are strong enough to cut down bacterium and viruses with ease. He can determine antigens and information on immune responses.
- Phagocytosis: White blood cells can analyze an unknown foreign cell by eating them, which helps them identify its species, or consume them as food.
- Knife Proficiency: He wields a knife as his main weapon of choice and cuts down enemies effectively with it.
Trivia[]
- He is good at cooking and baking, being the one who makes all the desserts and dishes during tea time with his friends.
- He keeps a journal of his Lady that keeps track of all the biological events that he has seen happen to her
- In tandem with this, after learning that the Princess' existence isn't malicious to his Lady, he has a separate journal to keep track of her too.
- He makes his friends celebrate his Lady's monthly birthday, Killer T is annoyed by it, while M-7156 finds it awkward, and B cell enjoys it.
